Pilates is a full body exercise method. It strengthens and stabilises your core, your foundation as well as your whole body. This means you can move more efficiently and effectively, recover from injuries and reduce your chance of further problems. At the same time you can expect to see improvements in your posture, balance, flexibility and mobility. As you leave a class you should feel a strengthened, lengthened and toned.
Pilates has something to offer for people of all ages and levels of ability and fitness. We adapt the exercises for each individual ensuring you get the most from your experience. To add variety and challenge or extend your practice classes sometimes include the use of small equipment, magic circles, foam rollers, small balls, light weights and resistance bands.

Pain, loss of strength and pelvic floor weakness post pregnancy and C-section delivery
We began with 1:1 sessions tailored to the individual, discussing ideas such as pelvic floor exercises and correct back care which were then incorporated into day to day life. A home exercise programme was provided. Correct breathing techniques were taught to allow to pelvic floor and core muscles to engage effectively. After a period of 1:1 sessions the client then was able to join the beginners classes and as strength was regained she progressed onto more advanced exercises. The client is now a regular at class twice a week and regained full functional strength and control
